THE EUROPEAN REGIONAL MASTER’S
DEGREE IN DEMOCRACY AND HUMAN RIGHTS IN SOUTH EAST EUROPE
Sarajevo - Bologna A.Y. 2006-2007
The European Regional Master’s Degree in Human Rights and Democracy
in South East Europe is an intensive one-year course established through
the joint efforts of the participating universities and coordinated
by the Universities of Sarajevo and Bologna. At present it is in its
sixth year of implementation. The Degree is co-founded by the European
Commission and the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Master’s Programme is structured in three terms
I) October 2006 – June 2007:
Lecturing period at the University of Sarajevo;
II) June – July 2007: Internship work across South East Europe;
III) September – October 2007: Master’s Thesis writing-up
period at the University of Bologna.
The teaching activities involve renowned
Faculty members coming from more than 25 European and other countries.
Internships take place at various regional NGOs, IGOs, think-tanks and
research institutes dealing with issues of human rights and democracy
in South East Europe. The third term is hosted by the University of
Bologna Residential Centre in Bertinoro, Italy.
Each academic year the Programme enrolls 35 students from the countries
of South East Europe and the European Union.
THE APPLICATION PROCESS FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2006/2007 IS NOW OPEN.
Interested candidates should submit the filled in application form and
all other required documentation to the Center for Interdisciplinary
Postgraduate Studies of the University of Sarajevo.
The Programme is able to offer study grants based on the merit of each
candidacy.
