BRIEF HISTORICAL NOTES

The centuries-old Byzantine-Norman abbey of Saint
Hadrian in San Demetrio Corone (Cosenza), one of the
most valuable artistic monuments in Calabria, whether on
its outside can appear a church without any charm, on the
inside reveals all its splendor, despite the blatant stylistic
incoherence and its brightness. A real “patchwork”, as the
journalist and sociologist Pietro Pisarra has defined it.
